GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE COMPONENT LIBRARY
The Graphical User Interface (GUI) is the face that an application presents to the user. The GUI represents the look and feel of the application. Intr@vation has a comprehensive group of GUI components and are adding to the collection as the requirements for new components arise. Highlights of our GUI components collection are described here.
TREE VIEW
Tree View is a pure Java GUI component that presents the Windows 95 and Windows NT Explorer interface. The file system is displayed as a tree of directory nodes with their associated sub-directories (if any). Double-clicking on a directory opens that directory to show its contents. The Tree View GUI component can display the structure of the local file systems, or it can interface to an SQL database to display the contents of the database in a tree-structured fashion. The Tree View component is designed to obtain its contents on demand, thereby minimizing round trips to the server side in the case of database display.
TABLE VIEW
The Table View displays data in regular arrays of rows and columns. The Table View is built such that it displays data irrespective of the source of the data. The Table View uses delegate objects to provide its data.
CALENDAR VIEW
Calendar View brings a familiar calendar look and feel to the desktop. The basic view in the calendar is the month, showing the days of the week, with their associated tasks obtained from the workplan component. Tasks are listed on a per-day basis, and selecting a task displays the workplan view so that the tasks may be edited. The calendar view can be zoomed out to display three, six, or twelve months at a time, presenting the user with a macro view of project timelines. The calendar may be rolled forward and backwards, and for the zoomed views, may be fast-forwarded and fast-rewound.
