Admin. Notification

Messages can be sent to users when the status of tasks in the Workplan change. Messages are sent to the mail server when events are triggered. VPC checks every 2 hours. The admin can force an immediate notification check by clicking on the Force Notifications icon. The process to add a notification is as follows:
  • Select the Insert Row button and a new panel will open
  • Enter the task #
  • Select the trigger from pull down menu (See below)
  • Select the target Default maximum size is 512 characters including commas
  • Enter the message. Default maximum size is 1,200 characters
  • Click on either check to save the notification to the server and close the panel, or double check to save the notification to the server and clear the panel for another notification to be entered.

Cannot edit notification messages that have already been sent. If the suspend notifications box is checked, notifications will not be sent out. When the box is subsequently unchecked, notifications will be sent out if the applicable triggers have been tripped, even though they may be late.

Trigger Notification Message Sent
Scheduled Start Day of scheduled start.
Scheduled Complete On the 7th, 4th, and 2nd day before, and on the date of scheduled completion. Days can be configured as desired by the System Admin in Configuration table.
Start Past Due On the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 7th business day after scheduled start if the user did not put an appropriate date in the actual start date field, on or before the scheduled start date. Days can be configured as desired by the System Admin in Configuration table.
Completion Past Due On the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 7thbusiness day after scheduled completion if the user did not put an appropriate date in the actual completion date field, on or before the scheduled completion date. Days can be configured as desired by the System Admin in Configuration table.
Anticipate Start On the 7th, 4th, and 2nd day before scheduled start. Days can be configured as desired by the System Admin in Configuration table.
Predecessor Complete On the day a user enters an actual completion date for a predecessor task. (must be identified as such in workplan column)
