BULLET TEAMWARE SERVER
A key piece to Intr@vation's teamware framework is our Bullet Teamware ServerTM—a dynamically extensible server-side application that provides a framework responding to client application requests, managing coordination of data among clients, and providing access to databases and other data repositories. The Bullet Server forms the basis of all of Intravation's client server applications and is sufficiently generic to be used for a wide variety of teamware internet application.
EXTENSIBLE
The Bullet Server is extensible—incoming requests to the server specify the name of the module that is to handle the request. Modules are loaded dynamically on the server side. The Bullet Server loads that module which conforms to certain protocols and spawns a new thread to process the request using that module. Examples of modules include Security Check, User Password Check, Database Access, Document Management Service, Workflow Service, Notification Service, Remote File Access, and HTTP Link Service.
MULTI–THREADED
The Bullet Server is a multi-threaded application capable of handling up to 500 client requests per minute, depending on the client application and the server platform. The Bullet Server is written entirely in Java, and so runs on a variety of server platforms including Windows NT, Linux and Solaris.
